2Day: Tbilisi City Tour and Mtskheta Excursion


Today, you can look forward to a full day of exploring both the old and new capitals of Georgia. You will begin with a guided tour of Tbilisi, where you will explore the historic old town at the foot of the Narikala Fortress. During this tour, you will visit important landmarks such as the Metechi Church, the Antschischati Church, and the charming Sulphur Bath District. As you stroll through the city, you will gain insights into different neighborhoods, possible tourist routes, and their advantages and disadvantages for various types of travelers. The location and quality of hotels also play a crucial role in ensuring a successful trip. In the afternoon, your journey continues to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia and a UNESCO World Heritage site. There, you will visit the Jvari Monastery, which offers breathtaking views of the confluence of the rivers, and then explore the Swetizchoweli Cathedral.

3Day: Exploring Caves and the Greater Caucasus

Today, you will continue along the most famous tourist routes, first heading to the Kartli region and then further along the Georgian Military Highway into the Greater Caucasus. Your first stop is the cave city of Uplistsikhe. Carved into the rock by pagan tribes in the 1st millennium BC, this city served as both a settlement and a place for pagan rituals over the centuries.

After a short drive along the wine route in the picturesque Ateni Gorge, you will reach the city of Gori for a hotel inspection.

Following that, your journey continues north with a visit to the fortified church of Ananuri. You will pass by the ski resort of Gudauri and cross the Cross Pass to reach the town of Stepantsminda in the late afternoon, which is renowned for the snow-capped Mount Kazbek. After the hotel inspection and check-in, you will enjoy an evening dinner with a cooking class where you will learn how to prepare Georgian dumplings known as Khinkali.

4Day: Kakheti: The Heart of Georgian Wine

Before leaving the mountains, you will take a ride in local off-road vehicles to reach the Gergeti Trinity Church, the most iconic photo spot with Mount Kazbek in the background. After a brief tour in and around Stepantsminda with explanations about the local tourist facilities, you'll continue your journey to the wine region of Kakheti. Following a photo stop at the historic Kakhetian residence of Gremi from the 16th century, you'll proceed with a local minibus to the hill where the Nekresi Monastery is located. Afterward, you will check into your hotel in Telavi.

Next, there will be a short transfer to a family that has been producing clay jars for generations, which play an indispensable role in the Georgian method of wine production and storage. This method has been recognized as part of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2013. After the tour, you are invited to a wine and chacha tasting, along with a traditional Kakhetian feast featuring pork shashlik and other regional specialties.

5Day: Experiencing Wine and Culture

After a tour in and around Telavi, including hotel inspections and explanations about local tourist facilities, you will continue your journey to the picturesque town of Signagi. Perched on a hill, Signagi offers a scenic view of the Alazani Valley and is surrounded by an 18th-century wall. Nearby, you will make a detour to the Bodbe Monastery, where the tomb of Saint Nino, who converted Georgia to Christianity in the 4th century, is located.

As the final stop in wine country, we offer you the opportunity to visit Giuaani Winery in Manavi and sample the renowned wines produced by this establishment.

Upon your return to Tbilisi, you will enjoy a farewell dinner at a restaurant. During this special dinner, the MeetinGeorgia staff will also be present to personally meet our guests, hear your impressions, and address any industry-specific questions. Following the dinner, you will check into your hotel for one night.
