Our journey through Georgia with Meet in Georgia — and especially with our guide and driver Leri — was outstanding. We experienced breathtaking landscapes with impressive hikes to glaciers and high mountain huts, as well as beautiful churches, enchanting icons, and incredibly beautiful frescoes. We also had the chance to visit numerous fascinating fortresses and cave cities. Our hikes in Svaneti to the Chalaadi Glacier, in and around Ushguli, and on the plateau below Mount Kazbek were particularly stunning.
Thanks to our guide Leri, we gained deep insights into the biblical background of the frescoes, Georgia’s ancient Christian traditions, and the many wars of independence that have shaped the country throughout history. Culinarily, Georgia has an enormous amount to offer — from fresh vegetables and traditional oven-baked bread to a great variety of cheeses. As a vegetarian, I can’t comment on meat or fish, but the local markets are especially interesting, offering excellent quality produce. Honey lovers will also find outstanding products in monasteries and from rural beekeepers. As the oldest wine region in the world, with its unique Qvevri clay-vessel winemaking method, Georgia is a paradise for wine enthusiasts.
We are also especially grateful for Leri’s excellent driving skills — he navigated us safely and swiftly along gravel roads, “Georgian country lanes,” and through the chaotic traffic of Tbilisi.
All these experiences and impressions would not have been possible without the outstanding organization by Meet in Georgia and our guide Leri.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks — and can highly recommend both!
We had a great trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2025 thanks to Meet in Georgia. Our time in Georgia (9 of our 12 days) was made especially memorable by our guide Gela who was always ready with interesting information and answers to every question. He especially helped us understand everyday life in Georgia and to put this into historical context and was always willing to adapt our itinerary around us and local situations. Thank you Gela! A very memorable and interesting holiday. Recommend!
Our group of 9 thoroughly enjoyed a tour for Travel Editions with excellent tour guide Lasha. Beyond the delights of Tbilisi, we visited Gori, Uplistsikhe, Stepantsminda (Kasbegi) in the High Caucasus, the wine delights of Khaketi, and Sighnaghi (sadly in the rain), with many churches and monasteries en route. Lasha shared with us his knowledge of history, religion, architecture and culture, in particular music, serenading us (at many excellent restaurants) with his fine tenor voice on piano and folk instruments whenever available, even joining in with a wonderful singing ensemble on our last night. Musical memories will definitely include Anthem to Tbilisi, often played on piano and sung by Lasha! We’ve enjoyed friendship and laughter all the way on this well designed tour with an excellent guide, well chosen restaurants, delicious Georgian food (and wine!)
Georg from Meet in Georgia organized a self-drive tour for us according to our wishes. The accommodations were well selected – some quite exceptional, but all clean and warmly managed. Whenever we had questions during the trip, we received immediate responses and assistance.
Particular highlights for us were the charming Hotel Unfound Door in Tbilisi, the Ateni Hills Winery with its wonderfully welcoming owners, and the dinner in the private wine cellar with Irakli in Ateni!
Georg Arnemann with his "Meet in Georgia" on site in Tbilssi not only has the plan for Geoplan, the main organizer, but also the staff to get stressed Central Europeans back on track. With Geoplan and his local tour guide “Leri” we did an exclusive 2-person tour through Georgia. For 16 days, don't think anything, just enjoy, well accommodated, great mix of art and culture, Black Sea and high mountains. Fine food, warm encounters... oh... what am I saying: unforgettable. Thanks to Geoplan and its local organizer "Meet in Georgia"
We therefore give it 110 out of 100 possible points
What an amazing experience we had while visiting Georgia! Amazing people, amazing country, fantastic wild nature and great food!
Our guide, Sandro Kolbaia was better than we could ever dreamed off. His knowledge of the endemic plants is amazing and it was a great pleasure to have someone like him as a guide and not only as a guide but also as a friend.
Thank you Sandro, Thank you Georgia

Meet in Georgia is an extremely efficiently run organisation. Georg, our advisor, was brilliant in his planning details of our itinerary, adjusting to changes we requested and keep ing in touch to make sure we had a wonderful holiday. He and his organisation could not have helped us more or better.
