Rustaveli-Mtatsminda Cable Car Reopens After 35 Years

On October 18, 2025, the newly rehabilitated cable car connecting Rustaveli Avenue and Mtatsminda Park officially reopened after being out of service since 1990.

The circular cableway features 21 modern eight-seater gondolas, covering the distance between Rustaveli and Mtatsminda Park in just four minutes. The project preserved and renovated the historic lower station building, maintaining its architectural significance.

The cableway was constructed by the Georgian company Dagi, with engineering oversight provided by the international Doppelmayr Group.

Operating hours: 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Ticket prices:

Foreigners: 12 GEL
Georgian citizens: 3 GEL
Note: A park card (2 GEL) must be purchased and charged to access the cableway.
