The day begins with a guided tour of Tbilisi’s Old Town, showcasing its historical landmarks and holiday charm. Highlights include the Metekhi Church, the atmospheric Sulfur Bath District, and a cable car ride to the Mother of Georgia statue, offering panoramic views of the city. Strolling through the narrow streets of the Old Town reveals treasures such as Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, with the tour concluding at Freedom Square and the city’s grand Christmas tree, located in front of the Parliament building.
The afternoon provides leisure time to explore the festive Christmas markets, where visitors can enjoy traditional Georgian dishes, shop for unique handmade crafts, and immerse themselves in the local holiday atmosphere. The markets remain open through early January, reflecting Georgia’s celebration of Orthodox Christmas on the 7th of January.
The evening features a New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, accompanied by music, festive dishes, and lively celebrations. As the clock strikes midnight, fireworks light up the Tbilisi sky, marking the arrival of the New Year. After the late-night celebrations, enjoy a free day to unwind and relax. Take a leisurely stroll through Tbilisi’s charming streets, discover local cafés, or explore the city's vibrant New Year’s Day atmosphere. You can also enjoy open-air concerts and experience the city's relaxed vibe at your own pace.
Check-out until 12:00 p.m. and transfer to the airport. Depending on your flight time, you have the option to take a private excursion to the ancient capital of Mtskheta, a UNESCO World Heritage site (duration: 3 to 3.5 hours). The excursion includes a visit to Jvari Church, offering a stunning view over the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, as well as the impressive Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of Georgia’s most significant religious monuments.
The excursion is available at a supplement price of 80 EUR per person based on two guests.
Additionally, you will visit a family-owned winery, where you’ll learn about the traditional Georgian winemaking method using underground clay jars called qvevri, which have been part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2013. After the wine tour, you will taste local wines, gaining insight into the unique characteristics of each wine. This part of the excursion is available for an additional fee of 20 EUR per person and lasts about 40 minutes, offering a fascinating insight into Georgia’s rich wine culture and heritage.
