After breakfast, you will start a guided city walk through Tbilisi. The historic old town, stretching picturesquely at the foot of Narikala Fortress, enchants visitors with its romantic alleys, colorful squares, and numerous nearby landmarks: Metechi Church, the Synagogue, Sioni Cathedral, and Anchiskhati Church. Colorful houses with carved wooden balconies line both banks of the Mtkvari River.
The heart of the old town is the Sulfur Bath district. Its hot springs have earned the city its nickname, “the warm city.” Take the cable car up to the “Mother of Georgia” statue, then stroll through the historic Betlemi district to Gudiaschwili Square and on to Freedom Square.
In the afternoon, visit the Treasury at the Georgian National Museum. An optional meeting with the Protestant or Catholic community can be arranged afterwards. End the day with a shared dinner at a traditional Georgian restaurant.
In the morning set off on a full-day excursion to the ancient capital Mtskheta, the former coronation city of Georgian kings and today a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin with a visit to the famous Jvari Church, perched on a hill above the city, offering breathtaking views of the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Continue to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of Georgia’s most important churches, home to numerous cultural and religious treasures.
Next, drive to the Ateni Valley to visit Ateni Sioni Church. This small but historically significant church impresses with its frescoes dating from the 7th to 11th centuries and its picturesque valley setting.
The tour continues to the cave city of Uplistsikhe, a fascinating ancient rock-hewn town dating back to the 1st millennium BC. Explore the well-preserved caves, temples, halls, and narrow streets, gaining a vivid impression of life in ancient Georgia.

Continue to the impressive 16th-century Gremi Fortress complex, which once served as the royal residence and capital of the Kingdom of Kakheti. The complex includes the Archangels’ Church and defensive towers and offers beautiful views over the surrounding valleys.

Continue to Sighnaghi, a picturesque hilltop town often called the “City of Love.” Stroll through its narrow cobblestone streets lined with colorful houses, wooden balconies, and small cafés. From the old town walls, enjoy panoramic views over the Alazani Valley and the distant Caucasus Mountains. Around midday, visit a local winery for a wine tasting and traditional farewell lunch. You will sample regional Kakhetian wines and dishes, while a Georgian vocal ensemble performs traditional polyphonic songs, creating a warm and memorable cultural experience. In the afternoon, drive to Tbilisi.
